Dosing Guide
Correct dosage varies from person to person due to different wellness needs, tolerance levels, and specific product strength. Because of these variants, it takes time for most users to find the correct daily dosage. In order to make finding the right dosage easier, our drops are metered to allow you to experiment with 20 milligram increments. For CBD, in particular, we recommend 20mg as a starting dose. Other starting recommendations: CBG 5 MGs, CBN 5 MGs, D9 THC 3 MGs and D8 THC 5 MGs.

CBD Dosage - How Much Should You Take?
With all the information out there about the benefits of CBD, it can be difficult to know what product is best for you, nevermind what the right CBD dosage is. Making matters even more complicated, CBD doesn't have those tell-tale effects like THC, so it can be hard to know if you've had a proper dose, especially for first-time users or those who are new to CBD products in general.
But unlike many other brands, Naternal products have a CBD dosing guide right on the packaging, which helps you measure an exact dose using the graduated dropper provided in each bottle.
The Confusing Nature of CBD Dosing
The reason CBD dosing isn't universal is that everyone responds to CBD in different ways. CBD is one of over 100 compounds found in the cannabis plant, but even though it's federally legal, the FDA doesn't regulate CBD yet and has provided no indication as to what a proper dose is. It's also complicated because different brands and products contain different amounts of CBD (or come in different strengths)., So, the same size dose of one product may provide less or more CBD than the same size dose of another brand or product.
While CBD is generally safe to take, the optimal dose will vary from person to person and is dependent on many factors. It is also always recommended to consult with your primary care physician prior to starting the use of CBD, especially if you will be combining CBD with any other prescription or over-the-counter medications. Additionally, some people prefer to take their daily dose all at once, while other consumers prefer to spread their doses out throughout the day (known as microdosing).
What Matters With CBD Dosing
When considering the proper CBD dosing, there are a lot of factors that come into play. Some of these factors include body weight, the reason you are using CBD and your desired benefits, your body's unique chemistry, whether or not the CBD will be used in combination with other medications and the strength of the product you choose. Much of it comes down to experimentation and finding what works best for your body, but it is important to refer to the instructions that are provided on the product packaging.
Most CBD tinctures, oils and other applicators -- including all Naternal CBD products -- will have helpful guidelines on the packaging that provide information as to how much CBD is in the product and what a “regular” dose may be. If you have a product that doesn't have this information or if there's no indication as to how much CBD is contained within, you may want to consider another product. Aside from consuming a product where you may not know what's inside, you won't be able to develop a sense of proper CBD dosing when you don't have a reference point.
Naternal’s tinctures come in 600mg, 1200mg and 2400mg strength options - offering a general 20mg - 80mg dose range. Because we understand that dosing varies and consumers need more options, our graduated droppers and Trust the Source dosing guide allow for products to be dosed as low as 5mg - making our products great for beginners and experienced users alike. Our recommendation is to always start with a low dose and slowly increase, as needed overtime, until your optimal dose is discovered.

Frequently asked question
How much should I take?
Be wary of anyone who says they know exactly how much CBD you should take. The reality is that correct dosage varies from person to person and while we all like the idea of “silver bullets” it takes time to find the correct CBD dosage for your body. We offer our True Dosing System™ that uses 20mg as a foundation amount and have found that is generally the best place for people to start. Always take CBD products for a few days to receive maximum benefits.
How do I take CBD products?
Hemp extract oil can be consumed safely in a number of ways. Tinctures are taken orally or sublingually, meaning drops that are placed under the tongue or between the gum and the cheek. Topical products are applied to the skin. Capsules are taken orally.
